It is said that "Greatness is not measured by what a man or woman accomplishes, but by the opposition he or she has overcome to reach his goals" Dorothy Irene Height
The potential of greatness is in all of us. But few have truly been able to deliberately overcome severe adversities to triumph in the face of debilitating circumstances and ascend the highlands of greatness. Nick Vujicic has!
A few years ago I came across the story of this amazing young man and I was immediately moved by the tenacity and grit that he maintains in spite of, what appeared to be, his disabilities. Although he was born without arms and legs, he is certainly not handicapped. In fact, he is more able than many of us with both arms and legs. He has accomplishied things that many only dream of doing.
Being born without limbs, no doubt, would have had psychological and emotional challenges in addition to the grave physical challenges. He testifies of severe depression and being suicidal in his early childhood. Nevertheless, through faith in Almighty God and love for and by his parents, Nick was able to overcome his limitations and has been living a life without limits.
Nick is a university graduate with a double major in accountancy and financial planning. He is married and has a son. Additionally, he swims, plays golf, writes and use the computer, as well as, many other tasks that may seem impossible.
More importantly Nick has dedicated his life to sharing hope and encouragement around the world. In spite of him not receiving a miracle from God, he has decided to be the miracle to others. He continues unashamed of his testimony in Jesus – proclaiming Christ as the Way, the Truth and the Life.
I share with you today, one of the most inspiring individuals of our time, a beacon of greatness, a motivational speaker, an evangelist, a pastor's son, an inspiration to me – Nick Vujicic!
